This team event will take place on Wednesday, after we have already crowned our World Champ the night before. Hungover players who want one more shot at glory are encouraged to pick a partner and get in on this fun two-medio scramble.

The day after the WC. It will wrap up around 4 if there’s no playoff, so you should be good for a 7PM flight out if you want to experience what true exhaustion feels like.

The event is open to anyone who played in the MGAWC or Born Hairy the day before. Medios are strongly encouraged to pick their own teammate (from any chapter) and a team is only locked in the field once both teammates have registered.
Complete teams get priority until August 14th, but singles are welcome to register as well and will be let in if the event doesn’t sell out by August 14th.
Once that deadline passes, it’s first-come, first-served and singles will be paired up in the order they register.
FORMAT
Two-medio scramble over 18 holes.
Penalty strokes will be calculated using the formula below, which is recommended for this format by the USGA and has been tested twice by us; once with evenly matched teams and once more with a lopsided matchup. The matches were both competitive, so we’re expecting we’ll have a 25 team playoff at the end of this thing.
HANDICAP FORMULA
(Better player’s course handicap * .35)+(Worse player’s course handicap*.15)=Team handicap
Once we have the team handicap, we’ll calculate your penalty strokes the way we normally do and add that your score.
EXAMPLE
(14.4*.35)+(16.5*.15)=7.51. That figure would round up to 8 and this team would have 10 penalty strokes.
