SUNDAY NOTES AND INFO

It’s time for all of us to pretend like a practice round is going to help us somehow.

46 of you are headed to Revere to play the Lexington course and 11 are headed to The Legacy to play speed golf and see how many holes you can get in.

BUS PICKUP FROM DOWNTOWN GRAND

There will be one 56-passenger bus going to Revere at 6:30 AM. It will leave from 3rd Street, just outside the doors by the front desk. Probably. I mean, it should leave from there.

Revere player list

If you’re playing The Legacy, you will get in a suspicious looking unmarked white van from the same pickup location around 11:30.

PAIRINGS

It’s a shotgun start at 8 AM at Lexington. Pairings were set by a random number generator, so have fun getting to know other medios from across the country! There will be a code for range balls on your cart.

REVERE PAIRINGS

The Legacy practice rounds begin at 1 PM and pairings were set by the order in which you registered. You will get a code for range balls when you check in at the counter.

LEGACY PAIRINGS AND TEE TIMES

TEE BOXES

REVERE

We may not have our MGAWC tee markers out there on Lexington yet, but we will eventually place them on the tee boxes shown below. You can use the image as a reference if you want to practice from the boxes (or close to them anyways) you’ll be playing on Monday and Tuesday.

THE LEGACY

Medios practicing at The Legacy should play the White tees. Nice and simple.

OTHER TEES

As a reminder, anyone whose entire MGA handicap and competition history for 2024 is based on senior tees, may play up at the next set of marked tees in front of the MGAWC markers.

Any ladies whose entire MGA handicap and competition history for 2024 is based on ladies tees, may play the Bronze tees at Revere or the Yellow tees at The Legacy.

FOOD AT THE COURSE

There is no lunch box or drink tickets included Sunday, so smuggle accordingly.

At Revere, if the main bar/restaurant is closed at the clubhouse, definitely check out the kinda new snack bar by the driving range! The 2023 menu is below, so expect inflation to have done its thing to those prices…

The restaurant at The Legacy will be open and have food for purchase.

CLUB STORAGE

If you are playing in the MGAWC (and not the Born Hairy), you have the option to leave your clubs at Revere overnight. Get a revere hang tag from the employees and label your bag.

If you do choose to leave your clubs, you are leaving them at your own risk. If they disappear or you don’t show up the last day to take them home, the MGA is not responsible. We’ve never had any issues in the past at Revere, but consider yourself warned.

Born Hairy players must take their clubs back to the hotel, because they’re going to play at The Legacy on Monday.

Anyone who is practicing at The Legacy and then playing in the Born Hairy can probably store their clubs at the course overnight, but we’ll need to get a final answer on that after the round.

BTW, double check right now and MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHICH BUS TO GET ON MONDAY MORNING! This will ensure you don’t leave your clubs at the wrong course.

BUS TO HOTEL POST-ROUND

The bus will load up at Revere and head back to the Downtown Grand around 1:30. That is unless we have a bunch of SSSLUUUUGGGGSSS out there.

The van from The Legacy will leave once the sun goes down and everyone comes in off the course.

SUNDAY NIGHT MEET ‘N DRINK

We will officially kick off these weedays of extreme mediocrity at 8 PM at the Gold Spike, which is right next door to the Downtown Grand.

Each registered player will get two drink tickets (to be picked up in the Backyard Playground area at Gold Spike) and guests are welcome to come and spend their hard earned money at the bar. The property is 21+, so leave the toddlers at home.

Co-Founders El Presidente and “Straight” Willie Dills will take the stage around 8:30 to welcome everyone and award one lucky Chapter Leader a Lifetime Membership! We have a new game for them to play this year that is completely non-skill-based, which we know they’ll appreciate.

We’re going to pair up any Take Two Challenge singles who happen to be there, so they can spend the weekend getting to know each other, if you know what we mean…

Lastly, we will also be announcing the matchups for the Medio Cup (SFMGA vs. The World) before putting you all to bed at a reasonable hour so everyone is well-rested and clear-eyed for Round 1.

Have a kinda alright practice round, waste all your good swings and tag your pics with #MGAWC24.

El Presidente

If you have any questions or issues, text El Presidente at (415) 215-0839 and we’ll get it sorted out.
