LAS VEGAS, NV – The annual round one Ryder-Cup-style shootout between the original MGA chapter (San Francisco) and the rest of The World is primed and ready to go!

The World Team is made up of the top 10 ranked non-SF players attending and two Captain’s picks. Team Captain Mike Robin of Spring Hill MGA is a Medio Cup regular and currently tied for #1 on the Global Money List with $7.4100000000000000000 in winnings. He picked two Chapter Leaders as his Captain’s picks, Nick Lee from St. Augustine (69th on the GML (nice)) and Pete Bedell from Spring Hill (never saw that coming).

Reeling from five consecutive losses, San Francisco finally took the Medio Cup back last year, with a dominating 8.5-1.5 performance. Scott Sanders is the SF Captain this year, after crushing it at the Last Gasp to take a come-from-behind SF Money title. He then had a tough choice to make for his two Captain’s picks, ultimately choosing Justin Davidson and MGA Co-founder “Straight” Willie Dills.

The World will need to get 5.5 points from the 10 matches to take back The Cup, while San Francisco can retain The Cup in the event of a 5-5 tie. The matchups for the 8 singles matches and 2 four-ball matches will be picked and announced at the Sunday Night Meet ‘N Drink.
